Singapore 2024: New Digital Posters

As we get closer to the annual meeting, I wanted to share some important information regarding the new digital poster format, to help you plan for the submission.

Digital & Power Pitch Posters Now HTML

Over 4,000 of our abstracts in Singapore will be digital posters (“E-posters”) or power pitches, an excellent opportunity for quality small-group discussions! In 2024, digital posters (and power-pitch posters) move to an HTML-based format that improves consistency, interaction and remote or archive viewing. The format includes summary text that directly links to time points in a video that can play, pause or skip, and which has narration for off-line viewing.

New digital posters will use a consistent format with title/author information (top) and summary text (left) linking to sections within the main panel video (right), for better navigation, interaction and remote viewing.
Experiment with the Digital Poster Demo

To preview the new format, watch the 1.5-minute introduction, then try with the Digital Poster Demo, which shows all the details of how the links and video will work in final digital posters and a guide to assembling your poster. In a few weeks, you will receive an email with specific instructions to submit your digital poster.

Easy As 1, 2, 3

The assembly is simple: 1) You make an 8-minute video, 2) write summary text using the section headings, 3) and add time-stamps so the section headings link to sections in the video. Again, all details are in the Digital Poster Demo. The summary text defaults to the Synopsis and Impact sections of the submitted abstract, but you can modify this to any sections you wish.

Preview Kiosks Available

Clusters of posters will have a kiosk computer at the end of the row that flashes teaser images of the posters in the current session so that you can preview and navigate to the appropriate poster (Remember 2019?! We are bringing this back, thanks to 2019 Program Chair John Port!).

Why Not Just PowerPoint?

We wish it was that simple. Internet Explorer used to allow PowerPoint, but it has been replaced by Edge. Playing PowerPoint is insecure and inconsistent, so the HTML-linked video will provide a reliable and consistent solution for in-person presentation and remote viewing.

We look forward to engaging discussions at the Digital Posters in 2024!

IN OTHER BIG NEWS!

We are relaunching the “Clinical Translation: Unmet Needs” Challenge in 2024-25! We will begin with a virtual meeting on 19 March to review the challenge (register here). Attendees can submit Unmet Needs before 03 April 2024, and we will select approximately 10 submissions to be presented in a Power Pitch session in Singapore.

The final Unmet Needs will be posted in June to give time for participants to invent, develop and validate solutions for the 2025 meeting! Please see https://challenge.ismrm.org/2023-24-clinical-translation-challenge/ for all details.
