We’re excited to present the 2025 edition of MRM Highlights—available in digital format here and in print at the conference! As always, we invite members of the ISMRM community to scroll down and explore this year’s issue or click here to download the PDF.

This year, we revisit the vibrant legacy of ISMRM leadership with Recollections of Past Presidents, featuring reflections from Chris Boesch, Garry Gold, and Vivian Lee (pages 4–13), as well as memories from former AMPC Chair Scott Reeder (page 14). These voices give a unique perspective on how our community has evolved—and where it’s headed next.

With the 2025 Annual Meeting in Hawai’i, we shine a spotlight on MR Research in Hawai’i, profiling the work of Linda Chang, Thomas Ernst, Andrew Stenger, and Mehmet Akcakaya (pages 16–21). Their stories highlight the intersection of cutting-edge research and local impact.

This issue also features presidential interviews with ISMRM President Margaret Hall-Craggs and ISMRT President Brandy Reed (pages 23–26), offering insights into leadership, mentorship, and the future of our field.

We showcase profiles of the 2025 Mansfield Lecturer Reza Razavi and the 2025 NIBIB New Horizons Lecturer Shintaro Ichikawa (pages 29–32), along with a retrospective on the 2000 Young Investigator Award winner Talissa Altes (page 34) and a preview of the 2025 YIA finalists (page 36).

Our Q&A section is richer than ever (pages 52–70), tackling everything from open-source lexicons and prospective motion correction to the promise of distributed transmit coils and the persistent challenges of “hidden noise” in image reconstruction.

Other highlights include:

  • New Deputy Editors (page 44)
  • The ISMRT Future Leaders Program (page 48)
  • ISMRM Study Group Initiatives (page 66)

We hope this issue informs, inspires, and reflects the collaborative spirit that drives our field forward.

Enjoy reading!
